Margaret Glass was born in 1952 and is recognised as one of the leading Pastellists of today. She is a past Vice-President of La Société des Pastellistes de Françe and a member of the English Pastel Society.
Margaret has completely mastered the difficult medium of Pastel, a technique used to produce the depth of colour and tone of an oil painting whilst achieving an atmosphere often found in watercolours.
In 1992 she was awarded the title ’Maitre Pastellist’ by La Société des Pastellistes de Françe, only the eleventh artist to receive this distinction.
The picture has its original label on the back. It is dated 1979 which is significant in that her early work is apparently much sought after. It measures 25 x 32 cm framed.
A gift in Memory of Margaret Durst and in aid of Hempstead Church Funds
The draw has taken place and the painting won by Pam Hope who lives in Lincolnshire.
