Amanda Springall‑Rogers

North-Norfolk based artist Amanda Springall-Rogers started to paint in 2018. First experimenting with watercolour and acrylics, that summer, Amanda was introduced to pastels and soon found that she loved working with this versatile medium. She now uses all forms of pastel to create realistic paintings of wildlife and Natural World subjects, often inspired by the beautiful Norfolk countryside. In addition, she paints other subjects that catch her eye. Amanda also loves working with charcoal and experiments with other mediums and new techniques. She exhibits as a solo artist, with other groups and has hosted exhibitions with other artists in Norfolk and beyond.

Angela Hunter

Making beautiful objects, through exploring clay and glaze and their properties fascinates me. I am learning new techniques and making discoveries all the time. Through my experiments with clay I fulfil my need to be creative, reviewing and learning, and refining the forms I make using texture and colours. I'm inspired by the place I live: ever-changing Sheringham on the North Coast of Norfolk; and other artists' work, past and present.

I started painting and drawing after retiring to Norfolk, and I love it. Every new piece of work is an opportunity to experiment and to learn. I work primarily with acrylics, pen and pencils. Birds and animals are my preferred subject matter.

Chris Haywood

My interests lie in the natural world - birds, animals and botanicals. I use coloured pencils, pastels and watercolours to achieve vibrancy and depth of colour. I aim to show the personality in both my animal and bird paintings. I also like to portray character in my needlefelted creatures, which are made of wool.

Clare Wilson

My work is influenced by a life-long love of nature and the natural world, concern about Climate Change and its impact on the world and a wish to explore our (human) place as part of and in interaction with nature. I am fascinated by the beauty, reality, variety, emotional impact and strangeness of natural forms and I try to convey some of this in in what I make. I work in print-making, calligraphy, drawing and painting.

I’m a self-taught artist living and working on the Norfolk Coast. I specialise in animal and landscape paintings using pastels gouache and oils but have recently been experimenting with mixed media adding ink backgrounds to my work. Di Lindsay

Dianne Lindsay has an essentially realistic response to the rural and marine environment of Norfolk and Suffolk. Exhibiting for the last 10 years between Cromer and Southwold. The colour: lights, sights, and sounds of local views have always inspired her. With a strong interest in communicating, and the need to share the joy of painting with others. Aiming to do this with a fresh, spontaneous, vibrancy with a fullness from a colourful life and a need to capture the mood and moment in each piece.    Her work features trees, gardens and local heritage sites including doorways, harbours, and pier views. Dianne enjoys working plein air as the light and skies in Norfolk are incredible. She can be found completing commissions at home nestled along the coast, and in her spare time will be found in her second love, her garden.

Diane Silsby

I originate from South Yorkshire, an area steeped in the pottery industry in the 1800s and early 1900s, whether my ancestors were part of this I don’t know, but I do feel more at home with clay than almost anything else! So it was the obvious thing to do after a 30 year stint with the NHS.    I love throwing and sculpting and always have a theme connecting with my other passion, animals and the natural world. I’m based in Overstrand and have a workshop and small gallery at home.

Fehmi Gokes

I have been making mosaics since 1996 and have developed my own style by experimenting with different techniques and materials. I like making mosaics in relief rather than flat, and the grout is an integral part of each piece; not just to fill in the gaps. I like combining a variety of mosaic materials and less traditional ones such as wood.    I had a shop in Hastings for 5 years, which was also my studio. Talking with people who were enthusiastic about my work was rewarding, and getting commissions, which I have had from all over the world, is proof of their enthusiasm. I moved to Norfolk in 2004 and now I work from home on commissions whilst continuing to explore the possibilities of new techniques through my own work.

Flora Grant

Initially, having trained and worked as a primary school teacher, I came to clay as another way to be creative work with my hands.    I have produced a range of tableware using both stoneware and earthenware clay that sits in both modern and traditional decors. Each piece is handmade from start to finish and embraces the slow pace that comes with this age-old practice.

Jane Bygrave Studio Ceramics

Jane has been an active potter for about thirty years. After leaving college she established a studio in the Norfolk market town of Reepham, supplying East Anglian galleries and other outlets throughout the region. Jane Heath

Inspiration comes from the beauty in the natural world around me. The big open landscapes and skies in Norfolk with its wildlife and flora. I have drawn and painted since childhood as I explored the country lanes where I lived. Jennie Picton is a North Norfolk artist, designer and art teacher. She studied Textiles at Canterbury College of Art before continuing her studies at Chelsea College of Art, London. Her career has combined painting, design and teaching, bringing a broad creative perspective to both her own work and the projects she leads.    Alongside exhibiting and creating commissioned work, Jennie leads workshops and community art projects across Norfolk, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to explore, experiment and enjoy making art.

Kate Munro

I am endlessly inspired by close, immersive observation of plants. I love the process of making, often using corten steel or found pieces and a hand-held plasma cutter, enabling me to explore sillouetted forms in space. I am inspired by the transformation of materials, and love transforming sheets of hard, cold steel into something delicate, playful and optimistic. I have found that, by making this work, I notice more and more around me, and I hope it inspires this connection and wonder in the viewer too.

Kay Rawlinson

Inspiration for my work comes from the landscape of North Norfolk which I prefer to paint en plein air. I use a variety of mediums but mainly oil, acrylic and pen & wash. I also enjoy painting detailed botanical studies in watercolour as a complete contrast to my looser landscapes.

Life In Willow

Rich Love is a self-taught willow sculptor based in the beautiful rolling hills of North Norfolk. He specialises in animals both in natural and character form to include sculptures in each of the animal kingdoms, from insects to large mammals. He runs willow weaving workshops teaching the art of crafting willow deer or flying owls perfect for the garden. Movement is a key element in bringing his work to life, a willow owl may have a classic turn of the head, curve of the wings and dangle of the legs waiting to strike!

Lyn May

Wood engraving has been a passion of mine for many years. Every print begins as a sketch done en plein air which I develop until it feels right before reversing it and tracing it onto a small block of end-grain wood. Using razor-sharp tools, I slowly carve away the areas that won’t print. The moment I peel back the Japanese paper from the inked block to reveal the image is always filled with anticipation.

Mike Thody

Since early childhood art and design have been part of my life. After retiring early from my career as a building surveyor, I chose to take a degree in fine art (painting and sculpture) at Hertfordshire University. In 2002 we moved to North Norfolk and I was lucky to have a garden studio to continue my work painting in oils, watercolour and pastels and making sculpture.    In 2003 I started making sculpture in Holt Country Park using found materials and timber supplied by North Norfolk District Council.    In 2008 I started a small charcoal drawing class in Hempstead at the village hall to inspire new artists. Having concentrated on watercolour painting inspired by North-Norfolk churches, country side, sea and boats for the last few years, my current work explores the use of charcoal and pastel.

Mitch Engelhardt

An Open College of the Arts Course and a Natural History Illustration course has been the basis of my practice. Charcoal and pastel are my favourite mediums. I am experimenting with various media, sometimes combining materials and techniques, to produce more vibrant colour work. The freedom of abstract work inspired by landscapes and the natural world has been another avenue of exploration.

Philippa Clarke

I have always loved art but recently I began to experiment with mixed media and textiles and now it has become my passion. Living by the sea in beautiful North Norfolk, I am inspired by the surrounding nature and wonderful colours.    Over the last year my work has focused on the concept of 'Under the surface', encouraging the viewer to see things not always evident with the naked eye and to look beyond what we notice at first glance.

Rob Linge

I am an RAF Veteran, and lost my right arm while serving in the first Gulf War.    I have been working with resin & wood to produce small to medium sized River Tables and wall art. I also create resin abstract paintings which, when lit, show a wealth of ever- changing colours within the design.    I have immersed myself into my art work, and find it a great source of therapy and relaxation which helps with my wellbeing.

Robin Myerscough

I have been taking photographs since I was a teenager. In the early days I had my own darkroom. Now I have graduated to digital photography.    These days I specialise in experimental techniques in photography. The circular images and the black and white photographs are all shot in camera rather than relying on manipulating the pictures in Photoshop. Even so they are photographed in a darkroom!    The single flowers won an award in the 2020 International Garden Photographer of the year. They are created by superimposing original photographs on to the developed image.

Siobhan Hearn

Siobhan Hearn has a lifetime love of drawing and painting. Working in her beautiful barn studio at Frogmoor Farm, Briston, she is inspired by nature, both in her garden and the surrounding countryside. With a background in graphics, colour and design are important to her and she enjoys creating a series of images on a theme.

Sue Monteath

I moved to North Norfolk three years ago and have since enjoyed exploring the area through birdwatching, walking and sketching. Pen and watercolour field sketches form a basis for finished wildlife and landscape paintings made in my studio with Cley marshes and its birdlife providing inspiration for much of my work, as well as travels to seabird colonies in Scotland. From my studio I enjoy painting still life and work in a variety of media including oils and pastels.

Terrie Clifft

Terrie began her glass journey in Hertfordshire twenty years ago, with cold glass producing 'stained glass' panels and windows before going on to copper-foiled glass. After moving permanently to North Norfolk, Terrie attended a course on fusing glass and was hooked! She now works with Spectrum, Oceanside and Bullseye glasses to produce colourful decorative and functional pieces. Terrie often includes copper, silver, oxides and frits into her work. She especially likes dichroic glass and casting glass.    Terrie trained at Middlesex University, majoring in Art, before pursuing a successful career teaching in and working with primary schools for over 30 years in Norfolk and Hertfordshire. Her work has been sold at many exhibitions and has now found a new home in many different countries!

Toby Winterbourn

I have over 15 years experience working with traditional blacksmithing techniques and metal fabrication. This includes English Heritage and restoration work as well as private and public commissions. I enjoy working on restoration projects of old gates with intricate floral panels, and the processes of making the decorative flowers and leaves. This gave me the idea of focusing on these delicate features and to make them the focus of a large sculpture.    I enjoy natural history and more recently I have been working on various animals, including octopus, squid, bugs and otters.

Tom Drake

I found my way into making through metal fabrication and finishing, initially teaching myself as I went. What began as an interest gradually became my full-time work, creating well-made, lasting pieces with function, character, or a little of both. I’m still learning, experimenting and enjoying where the process takes me.
